Small and Mid-Size Local and or Regional Manufacturers are generally constrained when it comes to opportunities for growth. These firms are not large enough to hire legions of outside sales associates so they leverage Agents, or Manufacturer Sales Representation, for the active sales work of getting their products to market. When it comes to construction and specification sales specifically SMB manufacturing firms suffer to get attention in the Agent's line-card. There are simply too many other competing firms leveraging the same agents for the same business.
This is where Puller's Spec-Builder product is uniquely targeted to support the Inside Sales reps at the manufacturer and allow them to identify and spec-out alternate or "as-equal" product for bid and then push those recommendations down to the agents for sales into the distributor networks. As a future feature we're building a push-feature to the engineering firms for approvals for alternate packages ahead of bid date. This allows both the Manufacturer and the Distributor to gain confidence in their product bid and hone in pricing to get the business.
